IT Project Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manages the activities and people associated with the project as well as the success of that project
- May be required to hire staff to fulfil project deliverables
- Plans and defines the scope of the project in keeping with the SOW and project deliverables
- Manage and coordinate all project deliverables and schedule with key business leaders, stakeholders, technical staff and external contractors
- Defines project schedules to plan and coordinate project activity
- Develops and tracks project budget and forecasts labor and expense
- Performs resource planning and allocation of staff within and across projects
- Provides technical coordination and leadership for staff
- Designs, develops, documents and implements new projects
- Provides oversight and direction of programming and testing for projects
- Ensures projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations
- Identifies opportunities for enhancements and refinements to standards and processes
- Develops and implements Quality Assurance Plans
- Works directly with Architects, System Analysts and QA team to manage the technical aspects of a development project
- Makes sure that project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
- Provides risk analysis, planning and development of strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning
- Develops effective and timely internal and client communications
- Performs project closeout and lessons learned
Skills / Requirements:
- Experience in applications including Microsoft Office products such as MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience managing web and mobile application design, development, testing and deployment
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical staff up to and including executive levels.
- Earned Value deployment and reporting
- Experience with structured design and both waterfall and Agile methodologies ( including implementing SCRUM and SPRINT best practices)
- Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts
- Experience leading code reviews
- Self-managed, highly motivated and has a strong drive for results
- PMP certification desired
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience
- Understanding and previous experience managing programming, database and system design and testing of solutions
- Armed or Air Force industry experience highly desirable
