Last year the Pittsburgh International Lung Conference focused on Personalized Medicine of Lung Disease.

Experts discussed advances in personalized medicine for improving medical and lifestyle outcomes in patients with lung disease and members of their families who may carry risk factors for lung disease. The intensive 2-day conference featured more than 50 national and international leaders in pulmonary medicine, genomics, genetics, biomarker discovery and clinical research, and focused on personalized medicine approaches for asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute lung injury, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, and pulmonary vascular disease, among other pulmonary diseases.
