Deficiency of Nitric oxide in Pulmonary Hypertension: Mechanisms and Consequences (Summary of Presentation)

Dr. Erzurum is Professor and Chair of Pathobiology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and is director of the Cleveland Clinic’s NCRR General Clinical Research Center.

Dr. Erzurum received her MD from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. After receiving her MD, she completed an internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and a pulmonary/critical care fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. From 1990-1992, she served as a senior staff fellow at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Erzurum is an elected member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians, and serves as a member on a number of study sections. Her research into pulmonary vascular disease is funded by grants from the NIH and Cardiovascular Medical Research and Education Fund through the American Heart Association.
