Dr. Augustine Choi is a Professor of Medicine and the Chief of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Choi graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Biology from the University of Kentucky and received his MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine in 1987 at the Duke University Medical Center. He then pursued his Pulmonary Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1987 - 1990. Dr. Choi was on the full time faculty within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1990-1998 and in the Section of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine from 1998-2000.
Currently, Dr. Choi is involved in several pulmonary research programs. As part of his research, he continually strives to foster a better understanding of various pulmonary disorders and to improve current medicinal practices used to treat lung disease and injury. Programs in which Dr. Choi is currently involved include the following:
