The Potential Role of Combination Therapy in the Management of PAH (Summary of Presentation)
Dr. Badesch is Professor of Medicine, in the Divisions of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine, and Cardiology, and Clinical Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center, at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center (UCDHSC). He is the Chair of the Scientific Leadership Council of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA), as well as Chair of the Pulmonary Circulation Assembly of the American Thoracic Society (ATS). Dr. Badesch recently helped to lead the writing group developing the Medical Therapy Guidelines published by the ACCP's Consensus Panel, as well as the writing group on prostanoid therapy in the Summary Statement from the 2003 World Symposium on Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Dr. Badesch has authored or co-authored a number of papers describing the results of clinical trials in the field, in such journals as the Annals of Internal Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, CHEST, etc. He has served on the Steering Committees (national and international) of many of the major clinical trials conducted in the field of pulmonary hypertension. He chaired the American Thoracic Society Pulmonary Circulation Assembly Program Committee in 2001, and the Medical Program Committee for the PHA International Conferences in 2002 and 2004. Dr. Badesch has been listed among the Best Doctors in America 2001-2006.
