Dr Rassaf is a Scientific Fellow and Resident at the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, Pulmology, and Angiology at the University Hospital Aachen, Germany. He is qualified in Emergency Medicine and is a Research Fellow at a laboratory that studies protein interactions and protein modifications in the heart at the University of Dusseldorf, Germany since 2004.
Dr Rassaf studied medicine at the University of Dusseldorf, Germany and at the Texas Heart Institute, University of Texas. After receiving his PhD from the Heinrich-Heine-University in Dusseldorf, Dr Rassaf had the following postdoctoral fellowships: from 2000 - 2001, he was at the Cardiovascular Research Laboratories at University Hospital Dusseldorf; from 2001 - 2002, he was at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center; and from 2002 - 2003, he was at the Department of Cardiovascular Physiology, University of Dusseldorf, Germany. Dr Rassaf passed his ECFMG license in 2005.
Dr Rassaf is the recipient of two research scholarships and has worked on five research grants. He is a Member and Reviewer in scientific communities including the American Heart Association, and is a Reviewer for various scientific journals. He has supervised eight dissertations and has extensive teaching experience.
