Intrinsic Mechanisms for Nitrite-mediated Aortic Vasodilation (Summary of Presentation)
Dr Fago is presently Associate Professor of Molecular Physiology, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Aarhus.
Dr Fago received her MSc in Biology, Department of Biochemistry from Parma University, Italy. From 1988-1989, she served as a Habilitation Research Trainee at Parma University and passed the National Habilitation as Biologist in 1990. After a three-year research fellowship at the Institute of Protein Biochemistry and Enzymology in Naples, Italy, in 1995, she earned her PhD in Zoophysiology from the University of Aarhus, Denmark. From 1995-1999, she completed post-doctoral work at the Centre for Respiratory Adaptation (CRA) and from 2000-2006, she was a Research Associate Professor, Steno-stipendium and Skou-stipendium awarded by the Danish Natural Science Research Council, moving to Associate Professor in 2006. She has been a guest scientist at the Duke University Marine Lab, NC, the ETH in Zürich, and the University of Auckland, NZ.
Dr Fago is also involved with the Administration at the University of Aarhus. From 2003-present, Dr Fago has been a member of the PhD Committee of the Department of Biological Science and a Scientific Staff Member at the Interdisciplinary Nanotechnology (iNANO) Centre. In 2007, she became a Member of the ISA Panel Board, Institute of Storage Ring Facilities.
An invited lecturer at fourteen international conferences and meetings, Dr Fago has published over 40 original articles/reviews and over 50 abstracts/posters. She was co-organizer of five symposia and is a referee for various medical journals including J. Mol. Biol., J. Exp. Biol and J. Inorg. Biochemistry.
