To and from Airport:
The main airport is the Arlanda airport. You can use the Arlanda Express to get to and from the airport. If you have booked a reservation at Stallmästaregården Hotel or the Elite Palace Hotel, you can use the Flygbussarna. This bus will stop near these hotels. For the Flygbussarna, e-tickets can be bought online. However, they do not take cash. One-way tickets are 110 SEK (approximately $13), round-trip tickets are 199 SEK (about $23).
Taxi:
Take care to only ride taxis with fixed rates (fast pris). One such taxi is Taxi Stockholm, the black cars with yellow license plates. Taxi 020 is also listed as a reliable service, and it uses yellow vehicles with blue logos. Also, Taxi Kurir is known for its reliability, and it also uses black vehicles with white logos and license plates.
Car Rental and Parking:
Cars can be booked online or at the airport. All rentals include fire and third party liability insurance. Most Swedish cities operate on both metered on-street parking and timed ticket machines from 8am to 6pm. On street parking usually takes place on the right side of the road only. Sweden imposes incredibly high fines for parking violations.
Stockholmskortet:
The cheapest way to travel around the city by public transport is to purchase the Stockholmskortet (Stockholm Card). In addition to unlimited transportation on city subway, bus, and rail services, it offers free admission to more than 60 museums and several sightseeing trips. The card costs SKr 220 for 24 hours, SKr 450 for two days, and SKr 640 for three days; you can purchase the card from the tourist center at Sweden House on Hamngatan, from the Hotellcentralen accommodations bureau at the central station, and from the tourist center at Kaknäs Tower.
