Presentation Summary
Since 2002, Fabio Di Lisa has been a Professor at the University of Padova, Faculty of Pharmacy. He joined the University of Padova in 1995. Before that he was an Associate Professor at the University of Catania (1992-1995).
Professor Di Lisa obtained his MD from the Catholic University of Rome in 1977. He conducted his postdoctoral research at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He then was a Visiting Associate at the National Institute of Aging, Laboratory of Cardiovascular Science in Baltimore from 1991 to 1992.
Professor Di Lisa has published over 80 peer-reviewed original research papers in the field of cardiovascular disease. His current work focuses on the causes and consequences of mitochondrial dysfunction on the ischemic heart. Professor Di Lisa is President of the European Section of the International Society for Heart Research.
