Dr Biswal is currently Director, NIEHS center genomics core, Environmental Health Sciences and Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health. He also has a joint appointment in the Department of Oncology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine.
Dr Biswall received his BS and MS in Biochemistry from Nagpur University. He then completed his PhD in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology. From 1996-2000, Dr Biswal completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Pulmonary Toxicology from The University of Texas at Austin.
After his postdoctoral fellowship, Dr Biswal was a Research Associate, Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Pharmacy, University of Texas at Austin, TX (Individual NRSA). From March, 2001 until December, 2005, he was an Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health with a joint appointment in the Department of Oncology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine
A member of various professional organizations including the American
Association of Cancer Research, Dr Biswal has written 36 peer-reviewed
publications. He is presently Principal Investigator for three research
grants and Co-investigator for five other research grants.
