Special Interest Group - Critical Illness and Injury
The NIH Critical Illness and Injury Scientific Interest Group (CII-SIG) will hold its inaugural meeting on the second day of the Symposium, 14 November 2006, from 4 to 6 pm. In the mold of existing NIH special interest groups, the CII-SIG will serve as an inter-institute clearinghouse for information exchange and discussion among scientists from the myriad disciplines that span this area of clinical research. Interest groups sponsor symposia, poster sessions, and lectures; offer mentoring and career guidance for junior scientists; and foster exchange of information among researchers. The groups also provide informal advice to the DDIR and the annual NIH Research Festival and host the Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series. More information on the scientific interest groups can be found in the NIH Catalyst and the DDIR’s Bulletin Board, both available electronically.
