Speaker Topic
Complex Systems Analysis in Traumatic Brain Injury

Dr. Goldstein is Director of Clinical Research at Novo Nordisk. Previously, Dr. Goldstein was Associate Medical Director, Oregon Health & Science University and Professor of Pediatrics, Doernbecher Children's Hospital. He also founded and was the medical director of the Complex Systems Laboratory which is dedicated to using complex systems methods to study pediatric critical illness and injury. In collaboration with colleagues at Portland State University, Boston Children's Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital (UK), and other academic centers, the laboratory has focused on developing new data acquisition and visualization techniques of biomedical signals obtained from standard intensive care unit monitoring, applying novel linear and nonlinear time series analysis methods to the study complex disease dynamics in clinical experimental models, and perform detailed clinical studies and computer modeling of traumatic brain injury and sepsis.
