Director, Center for
Modeling Integrated Metabolic Systems
Case Western Reserve University
Cleveland, Ohio
Speaker Topic: Dynamic Systems Modeling of Cellular Metabolic
Processes to Predict Organ and Whole-Body Responses
Dr. Saidel received his Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University.
He is a member and former President of the Biomedical Engineering
Society. He is also a founding member of the American Institute
of Medical and Biological Engineers. Dr. Saidel has authored more
than 120 research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Saidel's
major research interests include mass and heat transport and
metabolism in cells, tissues, and organ systems. His major teaching
activities emphasize mathematical modeling and analysis of biomedical
systems, transport processes, and chemical reactions; and optimal
parameter estimation and experiment design. Also, Dr. Saidel has
served as Research Advisor for 22 M.S. and 22 Ph.D. students at
Case Western Reserve University.
